24-410 Finish: The Pump Neck on 2 to 8 oz Bottles

Reviewed September 7, 2026 · 3 min read

24-410 carries most lotion pumps, foamers and sprayers. Its published dimensions, what one and a half thread turns buy, and how to match a pump you already stock.

Your pump is a mechanism, and a mechanism that unscrews itself becomes a returned product. The beauty and household trade settled on a taller neck than food uses for that reason, and 24-410 is the size most of your suppliers stock.

The Published Figures for a 24-410 Neck

SymbolDimensionFigure
TDiameter across the thread.23.67 mm plus or minus 0.20.
EDiameter at the thread root.21.54 mm plus or minus 0.20.
IMinimum bore.13.11 mm.
HFinish height.16.41 mm.
SSealing surface to the first thread.1.17 mm.

T minus E is your thread depth, a little over a millimetre on each side. Your pump collar engages that depth over one and a half turns, and that engagement keeps it from backing off when a consumer works it a hundred times.

What Sits on a 24-410 Neck

Your lotion pumps first, then foamers, treatment pumps, trigger and fine-mist sprayers, and disc-top or flip-top caps for thicker products. All of them share the same collar, so a range can move between a pump on the 250 ml (8 oz) size and a disc top on the 60 ml (2 oz) size without a second finish.

SGSBOTTLE forms these necks in Shandong and at Xuzhou, on lines that also run the 18, 20 and 28 mm sizes. The bore limits the rest. At a minimum of 13.11 mm your neck passes a standard dip tube and most actuator stems, and it fills quickly enough for a viscous lotion. A thicker product, a scrub with particles or a balm needs a wider neck, and that moves you to 28-410 or into jars.

The published heights climb with the diameter across the 410 series: 13.28 mm at 18 mm, 14.07 mm at 20 mm, 16.41 mm at 24 mm and 17.73 mm on the glass 28 mm drawing. Your pump supplier stocks a collar for each of them. SGSBOTTLE forms your soap and lotion glass on 14 lines in Shandong and Xuzhou, seven at each site.

Glass Against Plastic on the Same 410 Number

The 410 series is written for both, and the drawings differ by hundredths of a millimetre. Your pump made to the plastic chart usually runs on glass, and your tight-tolerance airless pump sometimes does not. Where your closure is a precision part, your supplier reads the glass drawing on the SGSBOTTLE quotation rather than the generic chart, and a sample settles it.

What Goes on Your Enquiry

The pump or sprayer you already buy, the format in ml and oz, the product and its viscosity, and the filling line. SGSBOTTLE engineers return the bottles whose finish drawing that closure fits, with the internal height for your dip tube, so the pump arrives cut to the bottle.

Questions Buyers Ask Before They Order

What are the dimensions of a 24-410 finish?

The published figures are T 23.67 mm plus or minus 0.20 across the thread, E 21.54 mm plus or minus 0.20 at the thread root, a minimum bore of 13.11 mm, a finish height of 16.41 mm and a thread start of 1.17 mm. Your pump supplier checks its collar against those.

Which bottles use a 24-410 neck?

Lotion, soap, toner and household spray bottles, mostly from 60 ml to 250 ml (2 to 8 oz). In the SGSBOTTLE range it appears across Boston rounds, cylinder and square soap bottles formed at 14 lines in Shandong and Xuzhou.

Can I put a 24-410 pump on a 24-400 bottle?

No. The 410 finish is taller with one and a half thread turns, and its pump has a deeper skirt cut to match. On a 24-400 bottle that pump runs out of thread before the gasket seats, so the two are ordered as a pair.

Does the dip tube length come with the pump or the bottle?

With the pump, cut to your bottle. Your dispensing supplier needs the internal height of the bottle to trim it, and that figure is on the SGSBOTTLE drawing alongside the finish, so a pump arrives ready rather than long.
